Expression of bunGD1392 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) results in defects in the adult midgut, including a reduction in the number of mitotic cells, decreased numbers of intestinal stem cells and enteroblasts and remaining cells were abnormally round-shaped; these flies also exhibit reduced numbers of enteroendocrine cells, but do not exhibit defects in the normal intestinal stem cell-enteroblast asymmetry, nor any significant change in the size of intestinal stem cells, as compared to controls.

Expression of bunGD1392 under the control of Scer\GAL4Dl.PU (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) results in a significant reduction in the number of mitotic cells, as compared with controls.

Adults expressing bunGD1392 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of bunGD1392 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD1392} insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.

Scer\GAL4ey-OK107-mediated expression of bunGD1392 results in thinner alpha/beta lobes than wild type.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in semi-lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 0% or 70-80% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in mild thorax closure defects, depending on the insertion line used.

Co-expression of bunGD1392 suppresses the increased intestinal stem cell size seen in flies expressing gigGD1454 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130.

Co-expression of bunGD1392 suppresses the increased number of mitotic cells seen in the midguts of flies expressing msnJF03219, vnScer\UAS.cUa, upd1Scer\UAS.cUa, NDN.Scer\UAS, InRA1325D.Scer\UAS, upd3Scer\UAS.P\T.cZa, EgfrU.A887T.Scer\UAS, hpoKK101704, or hpoJF02740 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130.

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cUa does not rescue the decreased cell proliferation observed in the midguts of flies expressing bunGD1392 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130.
