Expression of PatroninKK100898 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PU, in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency, results in failure to prune all ddaC dendrites by 16 h after puparium formation (APF), unlike controls, but these dendrites are largely removed by 32 h APF; ddaC dendrite arbors are simplified at the white prepupal stage, compared to controls; expression also prevents elimination of ddaD/E dendrites by 20 h APF, unlike controls, but ddaF dendrites are pruned by 16 h APF, similar to controls.

Expression of PatroninKK100898 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PU or Scer\GAL4477 in larvae, in combination with a Dicer-2 transgene to enhance RNAi efficiency, results in a significant increase in plus-end out microtubules in ddaC dendrites, compared to controls; in the case of Scer\GAL4477, there is also a significant increase in plus-end in microtubules in ddaC axons.

During sensory organ precursor division, spindle asymmetry between pIIa and pIIb is abolished when PatroninKK100898 is knocked down.

The expression of PatroninKK100898 under the control of Scer\GAL4221, in combination with Dicer-2 for efficient RNAi, results in third instar larval class I abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaD and ddaE neurons exhibiting dendrite branch misrouting, as compared to controls; expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG, in combination with Dicer-2 for efficient RNAi, results in third instar larval class IV abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaC neurons exhibiting reduced dendritic arborization and abnormal dendritic terminals, as compared to controls.
