Adulthood-only expression of dppUAS.cUa under the combined control of Scer\GAL4esg.PU and Gal80[ts] (induced by temperature shift from 18[o]C to 29[o]C) does not affect the number of intestinal progenitors (i.e. esg-positive cells) in the adult posterior midgut, as compared to controls.

Forced expression of dppScer\UAS.cUa driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PU appears to initiate ectopic eye formation at the anterior margin of the eye field. Often the result is the production of two compound eyes being generated from a single retinal field.

63-day old germaria expressing dppScer\UAS.cUa via Scer\GAL4hh.PU (with expression controlled via 'UAS-gal80[ts]' and temperature) have significantly fewer germline cell stems and cap cells compared to controls.

Expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 causes a variable phenotype in the wing, ranging from a little ectopic wing vein material to blistered wings.

Females in which expression of dppScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 has been restricted to the adult stage using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B (animals are shifted to the restrictive temperature of 31[o]C when adult) show a strong germline stem cell tumour phenotype in the ovary after 3 days of dppScer\UAS.cUa expression.

Expression of dppScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG results in ectopic germline stem cells in the testis.

Overexpression of dppScer\UAS.cHa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9, can result in wing disruption.

When dppScer\UAS.cHa is driven by Scer\GAL4ap-md544 overgrowth of wing disc is seen.

Misexpression driven by Scer\GAL455B does not generate any eggshell defects, though embryonic DV patterning is affected in that the embryos are dorsalized.

Expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 produces broadened wings consisting of solid veins.

Flies expressing dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 have small wings which are blistered due to lack of adhesion of the dorsal and ventral compartments. Intervein cells express vein-specific hairs and the marginal triple row bristles are transformed into the oversized double row bristles normally seen at more distal positions along the wing margin. The wings are darkly pigmented. Larvae expressing dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 show overgrowth of the wing discs.

Flies expressing dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 have small, blistered wings that have pigmentation and hairs typical of vein tissue.

Causes wing margin defects when expressed using Scer\GAL4A9.

Expression of cv-2Scer\UAS.cSa suppresses the wing phenotypes seen when dppScer\UAS.cHa is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4A9.

A tkv7/+ background strongly suppresses the wing phenotype of Scer\GAL4A9>dppScer\UAS.cHa flies so that almost 50% of wings appear wild type.

A sax4/+ background causes a mild suppression of the Scer\GAL4A9>dppScer\UAS.cHa wing phenotype; with fewer wings showing the more severe forms of the phenotype.

Expression of dppScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG significantly slows down the loss of germ cell phenotype that is seen in Stat92EF/Stat92Ej6C8 testes at 29[o]C. After 4 days at 29[o]C, 41% of the double mutant testes contain one or more germline stem cells and all of the testes retain spermatogonia. After 7 days at 29[o]C, 17% of the double mutant testes have one or more germline stem cells and 88% retain spermatogonia.

Co-expression of BHDdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS significantly suppresses the male germline stem cell expansion phenotype caused by expression of dppScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG.

Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa with dppScer\UAS.cHa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 has no detectable effect on the overexpression phenotype of dppScer\UAS.cHa (wing disruption). Co-expression of cvScer\UAS.cVa and sogScer\UAS.cYa, with dppScer\UAS.cHa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4A9 has no detectable effect on the overexpression phenotype of dppScer\UAS.cHa (wing disruption).

Expression of sogScer\UAS.cYa and tsgScer\UAS.cYa, but not either alone, driven by Scer\GAL4A9 rescues the wing shape and wing vein phenotype of dppScer\UAS.cHa driven by Scer\GAL4A9.

The solid vein phenotype caused by expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is not suppressed by co-expression of sogScer\UAS.cYa. Co-expression of sogsupersog1.Scer\UAS partially suppresses the broadened wing phenotype caused by expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 and almost completely suppresses the conversion of intervein regions into veins.

The wing phenotype caused by expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 is not suppressed if the flies are also coexpressing saxΔI.Scer\UAS, but is partially suppressed if the flies are also coexpressing tkv1ΔGSK.Scer\UAS.

Partially suppresses the wing defects caused by gbbScer\UAS.cKa when co-expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, Scer\GAL471B or Scer\GAL4A9.

Co-expression of one copy of saxΔI.Scer\UAS or four copies of sogScer\UAS.cYa has no effect on the wing phenotype caused by dppScer\UAS.cHa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4A9. Co-expression of one copy of tkv1ΔGSK.Scer\UAS partially suppresses the wing phenotype caused by dppScer\UAS.cHa expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4A9.

The wing margin defects produced when dppScer\UAS.cHa is expressed using Scer\GAL4A9 are suppressed if the flies are also heterozygous for dallyΔP-527.

Similar dominant wing phenotypes are observed in flies expressing dppScer\UAS.cHa and tkvQ199D.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified that are not observed in flies expressing tkvScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified.

Co-expression of Xlae\nogginScer\UAS.cYa partially suppresses the broadened wing phenotype caused by expression of dppScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 and almost completely suppresses the conversion of intervein regions into veins.
