Gene Group (FlyBase)
GUSTATORY RECEPTORS -
The Gustatory receptors are a divergent group of (non-GPCR) seven-transmembrane chemoreceptors that are expressed in gustatory sensilla receptor neurons. They detect tastants (non-volatile compounds) via contact chemosensation. (Adapted from FBrf0208984).
Protein Function (UniProtKB)
Probable gustatory receptor which mediates acceptance or avoidance behavior, depending on its not yet determined substrates.

Structure
Protein 3D structure   (Predicted by AlphaFold)   (AlphaFold entry Q9W594)

If you don't see a structure in the viewer, refresh your browser.
Model Confidence:
  • Very high (pLDDT > 90)
  • Confident (90 > pLDDT > 70)
  • Low (70 > pLDDT > 50)
  • Very low (pLDDT < 50)

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

            Additional comments

FBrf0126794 states that 'GR1F.1' is associated with accession number AL035632, range 7301– 8711. BLASTing that particular region of AL035632 hits the 'CG14786' gene (which is not a Gr); but BLASTing the whole AL035632 sequence does give a hsp hit with e=0 to 'Gr2a'. 'Gr2a' is computationally mapped to band 2A, which is adjacent to 1F. Finally, the 2 sequence records attached to the GR1F.1 record (AX058701 & CAC22535) map specifically to 'Gr2a'.
