Pleckstrin homology domain of the Homo sapiens phospholipase C delta 1 (PLCD1) gene (HGNC:9060). This domain binds specifically to phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate. This domain can thus be used to monitor the distribution of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate within a cell, if fused to an appropriate reporter protein (PMID:9786958), or to target a tagged protein to a particular subcellular localization via phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate binding.
