Fat body cell clones expressing LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU are smaller in overall size, have smaller nuclei, and contain fewer fat droplets than control clones.

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU in larvae leads to fat body cells displaying an abnormal rounded shape, and highly variable size, with some cells appearing very small with comparatively large nuclei.

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA in larvae leads to reduced fat droplet size in the fat body, but no effect on fat body cell size or viability of the flies.

The wings of Scer\GAL4ap-md544, LpinGD14004 flies show a broadened vein phenotype. In addition, some of these wings also show an extra anterior crossvein phenotype.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in an increased number and size of GFP-positive aggregates within neuroblast lineage cells in the larval brain compared to controls (these aggregates may indicate cell death or a disturbance of internal cellular structures).

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL results in larval lethality, as well as severe lipodistrophy (the amount of fat tissue is reduced).

The size and shape of fat body cells is altered as a result of expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA.

The lipid droplets in fat body cells expressing LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA are reduced in size compared with those in wild-type controls. This reduction in droplet size is accompanied by a significant overall reduction in triglyceride levels.

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4DJ761 does not cause lethality. Both male and female flies expressing LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4DJ761 show significantly reduced survival under starvation conditions compared with wild-type. Survival of fed flies of this genotype is similar to that of wild-type controls.

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4DJ649 does not have a significant impact on starvation resistance.

Expression of LpinGD14004 via the fat-body specific driver Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 has a detrimental effect on starvation resistance, resulting in reduced survival under starvation conditions compared with wild-type.

Compared with wild-type controls, expression of LpinGD14004 in the adult fat body and gut under the control of RU486-induced Scer\GAL4Switch1.106 results in significantly reduced survival of the flies under starvation conditions.

Adults expressing LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS fails to rescue the reduced fat body size, but partially rescues the growth defect of fat cells, the reduced body weight, and lethality of hemizygous TorsinKO78 larvae.

Co-expression of LpinGD14004 and raptorHMS02306 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA leads to defective larval growth, decreased larval size, extremely small fat body cells with comparatively large nuclei, and failure to pupariate, unlike expression of either LpinGD14004 or raptorHMS02306 alone.

Co-expression of LpinScer\UAS.cSa or LpinΔNLS.Scer\UAS, but not LpinΔPAP.Scer\UAS, suppresses the larval growth defects, fat body cell size defects, and inability to pupariate seen in larvae expressing LpinGD14004 and raptorHMS02306 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA.

Co-expression of InRK1409A.Scer\UAS and LpinGD14004 under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA leads to a majority of animals dying during larval development, with none reaching adulthood, and larvae exhibit a severely underdeveloped fat body, with greatly enlarged and rounded fat body cells that have enlarged nuclei and contain very small lipid droplets, as compared to controls.

Co-expression of LpinGD14004 efficiency represses the wing vein phenotype of Scer\GAL471B, DadScer\UAS.cTa flies.

The ectopic lipid storage phenotype of Seipinnull mutants is fully suppressed by expression of LpinGD14004 using either Scer\GAL4ppl.PP or Scer\GAL448Y.
