Pulse-induced expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.UAS in 6 days old adults for 2 days, under the combined control of Scer\GAL4fat and GAL80[ts], induces progressive increases in abdominal girth, abdominal fat mass, fat body cell size and fat cell lipid droplet content, as well as increased body weight, as compared to controls; these adults exhibit increased food intake, decreased climbing activity, and decreased lifespan under standard nutrition but increased resistance to starvation, as compared to controls; the fat body does not show changes in replication (EdU labelling/new DNA synthesis), as compared to controls.

Pulse-induced expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.UAS in 4 days old adults for 4 days, under the control of Scer\GAL4da.Switch.PT and RU-486 feeding, induces increased food intake, as compared to controls.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4da.G32 or Scer\GAL4e22c results in late second to early third instar lethality. The larvae appear contracted and are not highly active, but they are normal in size, with normal patterning of denticle belts. The larvae show transparency of fat body cells.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, Scer\GAL4lz-gal4 or Scer\GAL4sca.PU does not result in defects in eye development.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a partially bald notum, with loss of mechanosensory bristles; microchaetae are missing from the domain of highest pnr expression, while macrochaetae are largely unaffected.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 or Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in thickened wing veins.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E in a Df(1)sd72a hemizygous background results in enhanced wing vein thickening compared to expression in a wild-type background.

Expression of StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E in a Df(1)N-81k1 background results in severe enhancement of wing vein 4 and 5 thickening compared to expression in a wild-type background.

Co-expression of NTN.ΔBRV.Scer\UAS and StimdsRNA.cEa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in mutual suppression of the single mutant wing vein phenotypes.
