UAS drives expression of a 68 kDa N-terminal fragment of Rel, which represents the 'active' cleavage product of full-length Rel, tagged with Tag:FLAG.

      Flies expressing Rel68.UAS.Tag:FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU have eyes with reduced eye curvature, glassy appearance with visibly reduced ommatidial facets and nonuniform and diminished pigmentation as compared to WT. Flies expressing two copies of Rel68.UAS.Tag:FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU causes complete ablation of eye.

      Flies expressing Rel68.UAS.Tag:FLAG in the wing pouch under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 have stark wing phenotype (significant size reduction, no longitudinal and transverse veins and wings with downward curvature) as compared to WT control.

      Flies overexpressing Rel68.UAS.Tag:FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long show retinal degeneration from 1 week after the onset of expression with progressive deterioration with time.

      Flies expressing Rel68.UAS.Tag:FLAG in neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU show significantly high female lethality. The fewer surviving eclosing females have a defective unfurling wing, but show normal locomotor behavior.

      Larvae expressing Rel68.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of either Scer\GAL4fat or Scer\GAL4C7 have increased levels of triacylglycerols compared to wild type.
