Ablation of GABAergic neurons through expression of hid in Scer\GAL4Gad1.3.098 expressing neurons (limited to metamorphosis using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B and shifting pupae to 25[o]) results in fewer GABAergic neurons in the medial-ventral region of the brain. Ablation of GABAergic neurons does not result in astrocyte loss.
