AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all supported alternative splices within 5' UTR.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.

Component of the elongator complex composed of Elp1, Elp2, Elp3, Elp4, Elp5 and Elp6 (PubMed:36302967). The elongator complex associates with and stabilizes microtubules; efficient interaction requires the full complex (PubMed:36302967). Interacts with InR/Insulin-like receptor; the interaction may stabilize Elp6 (PubMed:22645656).

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

Identification: isolated in a mosaic screen in which posterior stau localization is disrupted in stage 9 female germ-line clones.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene used in a cell-based RNAi assay to identify components or modifiers of the JAK/STAT pathway.
Lethal complementation group identified by insertion of a P{lacW} element in the 86E-87F region.
Wild type poly gene product may act as a tumour suppressor.

Named 'Elp6' to be consistent with the nomenclature of other genes encoding Elongator complex subunits in D. melanogaster and other species.
Named 'poly' as mutant larval neuroblasts are characterized by abnormally shaped, lobulated nuclei, resembling the nuclei of mammalian polymorphonuclear leucocytes.
