Expression of cncUAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to significant changes in neurophysiology of third instar larval neuromuscular junctions: potently increased spontaneous EJC (mEJC) amplitudes, decreased evoked EJC (eEJC) amplitudes, decreased quantal content (QC) and reduced number of releasable quanta (without any changes in paired-pulse ratios or mEJC frequencies) while it does not lead to any changes in third instar larval crawling distances or the life span of adults compared to controls.

Expression of cncUAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to a significant decrease in sleep bout length and a significant increase in sleep bout number during day but not night time when compared to control adults. It does not lead to any changes in the total activity of adults as compared to controls.

The expression for 6 days of cncUAS.cSa, either under the control of Scer\GAL4NP5130 and temporally regulated by Gal80[ts], or in clones under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU, leads to strong decreases in the proportion of mitotic cells in the adult midgut, as compared to controls.

Expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP results in ommatidial loss and a rough eye phenotype.

Expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PF has no effect on locomotor performance.

Overexpression of cncScer\UAS.cSa in the eye under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP disrupts the ommatidial arrangement, resulting in a rough eye appearance.

Overexpression of cncScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4Switch.tub significantly increases the survival of both female and male flies after exposure to oxidative stress.

The increased cell proliferation in the adult gut observed in flies expressing Ero1LGD3577 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (and using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression) is suppressed by co-expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa.

Co-expression of maf-SScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 enhances the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP.

Co-expression of maf-SdsRNA.Scer\UAS suppresses the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP.

Co-expression of Keap1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4sev.EP completely suppresses the cncScer\UAS.cSa gain-of-function phenotype, restoring the eye to a wild-type morphology.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Co-expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa with Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cTa (specifically at 2-5 days after eclosion), under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PF, prevents the deficit in locomotor performance induced by Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cTa expression.

Expression of cncScer\UAS.cSa at 25[o]C 2-5 days after eclosion has no effect on the age-associated decline in negative geotaxis found in flies expressing Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PF.
