AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
The major 2.5kb and 4.1kb unc transcripts are most abundant during the first 5 hrs of embryogenesis. Subsequently, the 2.5kb transcript disappears and the 4.1kb transcript is reduced. The minor 6.5kb species is at the same level throughout embryogenesis. In situ hybridizations show that unk RNA is ubiquitous in most somatic tissues through stage 15 of embryogenesis but becomes restricted to the nervous system in stages 16 and early 17.

unk transcripts are ubiquitous and abundant in the embryo.
unk protein is ubiquitously expressed. It is expressed throughout the eye discs but is expressed more strongly posterior to the morphogenetic furrow and is found in cone cells and photoreceptor cells.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

unk plays no role in the regulation of growth.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene results in a change in cell proliferation.
unk lies between the location of enhancer trap elements that report hh expression and hh itself.
