Description

Capable of over-expressing rho.

P{EP} insertion 458bp upstream of the rho translation initiation codon. The P{EP} element is oriented such that expression from the element results in overexpression of rho.

Expression of rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU results in ectopic wing veins and wing margin defects.

Flies carrying rhoEP3704/+ alone do not exhibit any ectopic wing vein or blistered wing phenotypes.

Expression of rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU leads to induction of ectopic wing veins in most of the flies while it leads to formation of wing blisters in a few flies.

Embryos expressing rhoEP3704 under the control of either Scer\GAL4how-24B, Scer\GAL4kirre.PR or Scer\GAL469B show an increase in the number of dorsal, dorsolateral and lateral adult muscle precursor cells compared to wild type. The number of ventral adult muscle precursor cells is unaffected in these embryos.

Expression via Scer\GAL4fkh.PH results in a very strongly penetrant aberrant duct morphogenesis phenotype in the embryonic salivary gland. Glands are positioned too anteriorly with no obvious distinction in shape between duct and secretory cells and no common duct-like structure formed at stage 15. At earlier stages during the invagination process, aberrantly shaped lumena are observed, but most prominently a large bulge of eyg-positive ectopic cells seem to arise between the already invaginated secretory gland portions at the position where the individual ducts would normally form.

Embryos expressing rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B show a massive overproduction of lateral adult muscle precursors at the expense of the segmental border muscle fibre. Embryos expressing rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B show an increased number of tin-expressing and tin/eve-expressing pericardial cells (some of which are intermingled with dorsal muscle cells) accompanied by a reduced number of tin/lbe-expressing pericardial cells.

ventral nerve cord commissures in stage 17 rhoEP3704; Scer\GAL4sca-4512 embryos are fused and reduced.

Expression of rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in rough eyes. Flies expressing rhoEP3704 under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev have glassy eyes.
