    Drives expression in the mushroom body dorsal paired medial cell.

    Scer\GAL4c316 is expressed in several cells of the adult brain, including a subset of Kenyon cells and in the mushroom body dorsal paired medial neurons.

    Scer\GAL4c316 is expressed in the mushroom body dorsal paired medial cell, and in that cell's dense arborization in the mushroom body alpha'/beta'-lobes. Use of GFP-reconstitution across synaptic partners (GRASP) reveals that there are close contacts between the mushroom body dorsal paired medial cell and the mushroom body neurons in the mushroom body lobes and pedunculus. The terminals of the mushroom body dorsal and anterior paired medial cells are in close association in the mushroom body alpha'/beta' lobes and in the pedunculus. Co-expression of Scer\GAL4c316 with a presynaptic marker preferentially labels the presynaptic terminals of the mushroom body dorsal paired medial cell in the mushroom body alpha/beta lobes.

    Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4c316 cells, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage, does not affect food intake or climbing rate, compared to controls.

    Thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa at 30[o]C) of Scer\GAL4c316 cells in adults does not affect food intake or climbing rate, compared to controls.
