Co-expression of BuffyUAS.cQa enhances the reduced adult lifespan along with the impaired climbing ability of flies parkdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, whereas it ameliorates the same phenotype in Pink1dsRNA.UAS-expressing flies. The disrupted ommatidial lattice and loss of ommatidia of adult flies expressing parkdsRNA.UAS driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is ameliorated by BuffyUAS.cQa, while flies expressing either Pink1dsRNA.UAS or BuffyUAS.cQa or both simultaneously under Scer\GAL4GMR.PF do not show any eye morphology defects.
The co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa suppresses the ommatidial defects (i.e ommatidial number and ommatidial array organization ) induced by the expression of either Pi3K59FKK107602 or Atg6GD11647 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.
The reduced lifespan and impaired climbing ability characteristic for adult flies expressing either LfgKK104535 or LfgHMS00225 under the Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL driver as well as the loss of ommatidia observed upon Scer\GAL4GMR.PF-driven RNAi expression are suppressed by co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa.
The shortened lifespan and poor climbing ability characteristic for adult flies expressing DebclScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (with the Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL driver) as well as the eye morphological defects and loss of ommatidia (using the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF driver) is much improved by co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa.
The morphology and number of ommatidia in the eyes of adult flies expressing both DebclJF02429 and BuffyScer\UAS.cQa simultaneously under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is comparable to controls.

Expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PB markedly suppresses the adult wing and thorax phenotypes seen in Pink1B9 flies. The indirect flight muscle defects are also suppressed in these animals, although the flight defect is not rescued.
Co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa suppresses shortened lifespan and impaired climbing ability in flies with expression of Hsap\SNCAScer\UAS.cFa driven by Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL. Co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa enhances the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF; Hsap\ATXN3tr.Q78.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1-induced eye neurodegeneration and lethality. Eyes coexpressing DebclScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1, BuffyScer\UAS.cQa, and Hsap\ATXN3tr.Q78.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (all driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF) show a significantly weaker degenerative eye phenotype than eyes expressing BuffyScer\UAS.cQa and Hsap\ATXN3tr.Q78.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1. Co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa enhances the decreased lifespan induced by the expression Hsap\ATXN3tr.Q78.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.
