Adult flies expressing BuffyUAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not induce any eye morphology defects.

Flies with expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa driven by Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL have an increase in lifespan and climbing ability compared to controls.

Expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL does not have a significant effect on adult survival or locomotion (climbing ability).

The expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU does not lead to any obvious ommatidial defects, as compared to controls.

Expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF does not disrupt adult eye morphology compared to controls.

Expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 in ddaC neurons has no affect on the density of mitochondria (assayed by the expression of markers with a mitochondrial targeting signal).

Scer\GAL4GMR.PF driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF produces flies with eyes with a wild-type appearance.

Co-expression of BuffyUAS.cQa enhances the reduced adult lifespan along with the impaired climbing ability of flies parkdsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL, whereas it ameliorates the same phenotype in Pink1dsRNA.UAS-expressing flies. The disrupted ommatidial lattice and loss of ommatidia of adult flies expressing parkdsRNA.UAS driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is ameliorated by BuffyUAS.cQa, while flies expressing either Pink1dsRNA.UAS or BuffyUAS.cQa or both simultaneously under Scer\GAL4GMR.PF do not show any eye morphology defects.

The shortened lifespan and poor climbing ability characteristic for adult flies expressing DebclScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (with the Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL driver) as well as the eye morphological defects and loss of ommatidia (using the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF driver) is much improved by co-expression of BuffyScer\UAS.cQa.
