DCortactin
cytoskeletal component that acts as a link, via Src, between surface receptors and actin - interacts with F-actin and can stimulate actin polymerization by direct interaction with the Arp2/3 complex

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

An anti-Cortactin protein antibody recognizes proteins of 105 and 110 kD in all developmental stages, with high levels in embryos, larvae, and pupae, and low levels in adults. The size observed on SDS-PAGE (105 and 110 kD) is much larger than the predicted size (61 kD); a similar disparity has been observed for vertebrate Cortactin, and may be due to the proline-rich domains.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Cortactin modulates cell migration and ring canal morphogenesis during oogenesis.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
RNAi screen using dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene causes a phenotype when assayed in S2R+ cells: cells become retracted (unspread but flat). Kc167 cells are unaffected.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene is tested in an RNAi screen for effects on actin-based lamella formation.
