The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.

FlyBase curator comment: A gene called 'DrGC-2' is described that encodes a Receptor Guanylyl Cyclase; it is mapped to 89A but is otherwise uncharacterized. (This gene was originally curated as 'Gyc89A'/'Guanylyl cyclase at 89A' (FBgn0014856) in FlyBase.) A search in 2016 for molecularly-defined genes that encode Receptor Guanylyl Cyclases reveals two candidates in the 89A region: CG31183 (89A6-89A7) and CG14877 (89A7-89A8). Presumably 'DrGC-2' corresponds to one or both of these genes, and so 'DrGC-2' (and its synonyms) have been added as synonyms to CG31183 and CG14877, and the original Gyc89A record has been deleted.
