AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Comment: cyclical, peak ZT21-0
Expressed cyclically in the adult fat body.
Localized Ptp99A protein is first observed in the axonal layer in stage 12 embryos. It is also expressed transiently in some neuronal cell bodies. By stage 14 uniform expression is seen along the commissures and longitudinal connectives. Weaker staining is seen on peripheral axon tracts near the edges of the CNS. Weak tracheal staining is sometimes observed.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
Annotation CG11515 was eliminated in release 3 of the genome annotation, October 2002.
Requirements of Lar, Ptp69D and Ptp99A in growth cone guidance decisions along the ISN and SNb motor pathways demonstrates relationships among the tyrosine phosphatases are complex and dependent on cellular context. At growth cone choice points along one nerve, two phosphatases cooperate, while along another nerve these same phosphatases can act in opposition to one another. Lar is central to ISN guidance, Ptp69D and Ptp99A are not essential but do participate in guidance processes involving Lar.
Spatial and temporal transcript accumulation pattern in ovaries is determined by in situ hybridisation.
A Ptp99A cDNA has been cloned and sequenced.
Receptor linked PTPases may be involved in axon outgrowth and guidance during embryonic development.

Annotations CG2005, CG11517 and CG11516 merged as CG2005 (which corresponds to Ptp99A) in release 5.1 of the genome annotation. In addition, release 5.1 annotation CG2005 also contains sequences corresponding to part of release 2 annotation CG11515 (which was eliminated in release 3 of the genome annotation).
