A collection of conditional "flip-flop-loxP" insertional alleles that allow a specific gene to be turned off or on at any time in any cell type has been generated, using the flip-flop technique described in Nagarkar-Jaiswal et al., 2017, eLife 6: e26420 (FBrf0235931).
Each allele contains an inserted "flip-flop-loxP" cassette; this differs from the original flip-flop cassette of Nagarkar-Jaiswal et al. by the addition of flanking loxP sites on either side of the EGFP protein trap module, such that this module can be easily removed in the event that the in-frame EGFP fusion disrupts normal protein function.
The 'Associated File' for this personal communication corresponds to the complete table of flip-flop-loxP alleles (file downloaded from https://www.genetivision.com/FlipFlopLoxP.html).
