DCAP, rexin
Drosophila's Cbl-associated protein - interacts with Vinculin (which functions in actin-mediated organization of cellular morphology) - regulates assembly and function of tension-sensing structures - involved in muscle and sensory organ development and function - binds to Axin and Arrow through SH3 domains leading to a potential role in insulin-mediated glucose transport

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Gene model includes transcripts encoding non-overlapping portions of the full CDS.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all possible combinations of alternative exons and/or alternative promoters.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Comment: reported as dorsal/lateral sensory complexes
Comment: in longitudinal muscle
Comment: in longitudinal muscle
CAP protein is found in stage 16 embryos predominantly in chordotonal organs, somatic muscle, dorsal vessel and the gut. It is present in scolopale cells and muscle attachment sites of longitudinal muscles but is missing from lateral transverse muscles. In third instar larvae it is found mainly in scolopale cells and weakly in cap cells and is also at muscle attachment sites. Isoform-specific expression of CAP protein is observed.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
