AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all supported alternative splices within 5' UTR.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Comment: maternally deposited
Comment: reported as fat body specific anlage
Hr78 transcripts are expressed at low levels in embryos and early larvae and increase after the 2nd to 3rd instar molt. Expression does not appear to be strongly activated by ecdysone. They are expressed ubiquitously in embryos and imaginal discs at low levels.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Hr78 is not required for morphogenetic furrow formation in the developing eye.
Null mutations lead to lethality during the third larval instar with defects in ecdysteroid-triggered developmental responses. Mutants fail to activate the mid-third instar regulatory hierarchy that prepares the fly for metamorphosis.
Hr78 may play a regulatory role in the transcriptional cascade triggered by the hormone ecdysone.
FlyBase curator comment: the insertion in the "e03593" Exelixis line (PBac{RB}CG33214e03593) was originally assigned to the Hr78 gene in FBrf0179797, resulting in the "Hr78e03593" (FBal0160320) allele. However, FBrf0184340 shows that the insertion is actually within CG33214.
