Dh44-R1 protein is detected in about 24 neurons of the larval central nervous system; these neurons coexpress Dh31-R protein and the neuropeptide corazonin (Crz). All larval Crz-positive neurons express Dh32-R protein. Both Dh44-R1 and Dh32-R proteins are detected in several somata in the dorsal part of the adult brain. All Crz-positive neurons in the adult CNS are also positive for both Dh32-R and Dh44-R1; while around 6 Dh44-R1-positive neurons do not coexpress either Dh32-R or Crz.
