Ssrp transcripts are found in ovaries and are abundant throughout oogenesis. Transcripts are also found in nurse cells and the nurse cell expression is highest during stages S10-S12. Transcript levels remain high during embryogenesis but drop during larval stages.
Ssrp protein is localized to the nucleus and is particularly abundant in the nucleolus.
