Toll-8, Toll8, Tl-8
Toll-like receptor - leucine rich repeat transmembrane protein - expressed in ectoderm and required for neural-specific expression of the glycan HRP epitope

AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Tollo transcript is expressed in the proximal region of the wing disc, and the anterior compartment in leg discs; expression is absent from the wing pouch.
Tollo is expressed in a pair rule pattern in cellular blastoderm embryos. The pair rule stripes overlap the eve stripes, while the 18w stripes are posterior and adjacent to the eve stripes. At germ band extension, Tollo expression is strong in 14 bands (a segment polarity pattern). The Tollo stripes are situated posterior to the wg stripes while the 18w stripes overlap the wg stripes. Tollo is also expressed in the head region in both of these stages
Tollo is expressed at a high level in embryos and pupae and at a lower level in larvae and adults.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Mutant embryos show a dramatic loss of difucosylated glycans accompanied by decreases in monofucosylated and nonfucosylated hybrid glycans and increases in some nonfucosylated paucimannose and biantennary glycans.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
