All su(Hw)^{2}/su(Hw)^{e04061} mid-oogenesis egg chambers exhibit apoptosis, which is only rarely observed in controls.

3 days-old su(Hw)^{2}/su(Hw)^{e04061} testes show disorganized individualization complexes, a bulge at the end of the testes, reduced sperm production and small seminal vesicles.

su(Hw)^{2}/Df(3R)su(Hw)-A1933 transheterozygotes are viable but female sterile and also lack the gypsy insulator function (assayed through body, wing and bristle phenotypes induced by mutations in the y, ct and f genes).

su(Hw)^{2} cancels the effect of mod(mdg4)^{ul} on trans repression of y gene expression.

Phenotype of abd-A^{iab2-K} is suppressed.

Low viability.

su(Hw)^{2}/su(Hw)^{7} heterozygotes almost completely suppress the "Hw" phenotype ac^{Hw-1+R5}, extra macrochaetae are seen on the pleura and postnotum. This was accompanied by a 2--3 fold reduction of ac RNA, sc RNA levels were unchanged. A positive correlation can be seen between increased levels of ac transcripts and the appearance of the "Hw" phenotype.
